YES! I often feared the "fallout" from a piece - or the snide commentary. Turns out, unless I directly sent a link to people and almost BEGGED them, they weren't reading my stuff. Which was fine - because I eventually found an audience of people who like/appreciate/engage with my content - and, the fear is gone - no one I run into regularly is going to say, "hey, I read that thing..." the best: When someone you know gets sent one of your pieces by a friend - then, then you've found a reach!
