Ugh, I agree - Vocal is super frustrating. I've just started writing on Simily, and I like it much more - it's very similar to Medium, has a fiction focus (but you can republish your Medium pieces in any genre), and the pay is much better than Vocal. I hate the Vocal waiting game and the Vocal+ membership doesn't really seem worth it.
