This, to me, is the key - You can't expect to be a "big earner" here or anywhere in the first month or first few months. You have to write, write consistently, and put out quality work. If I go to your page and read your stuff, I want it to be very good - great, even. That's what makes me hit "follow." If your writing makes people think - or grabs them emotionally, they'll engage with it - even share it. Getting to that point takes time.
