This Simily Update Should Have Been Published on Sunday from Seattle
Instead, it’s a day late but I am writing it in Seattle
--
I’ve been writing about my journey on Simily for 15 weeks now. It’s been an interesting adventure so far, though less exciting of late.
Typically, I publish the updates on Sunday. I planned to do so yesterday, but some air travel chaos thwarted my plans.
I was planning to travel to Seattle on Sunday — leaving Nashville very early in the morning and arriving in Seattle when it would still be morning there.
Instead, I was not able to board — even though I arrived at the airport two hours early. There were no other flights from Nashville to Seattle on Sunday. I was given a number to call and advised I could visit a “nearby airport” — perhaps in Louisville or Atlanta.
That wasn’t an option. So, I went home and took the next flight out of Nashville to Seattle — on Monday (today) at the same time.
I won’t get into all the details of my customer service frustration. Let me just say that Delta was not customer-friendly and though I’ve never had a problem with Expedia, when I did finally have a problem (yesterday) they weren’t helpful.
The bottom line, though: I arrived in Seattle in time for the conference I’m attending. Today was wonderfully sunny and I got to walk around and enjoy this amazing place.
Oh, in case you want to know what’s going on at Simily, it seems they have around 3500 members now. They appear to be experiencing a net gain of 50–100 followers a week. Not exactly setting the world on fire.
I’m up to 109 followers. My highest earning story is this one:
