This is great info - as someone who teaches public speaking, I always tell my students that listening time wanes after 7 minutes - we just can't/won't/don't focus consistently for much longer than that - even if your content is AMAZING, minds start to wander. I've seen (and read) some longer pieces - but I really can't imagine reading something longer than 7 minutes unless it is insanely interesting - The pieces I write tend around the three minute range - quick answers to questions or a quick take on a current event/topic. I think there's room for longer exploration - and I sometimes do that with my Substack newsletters.... Great info as always, Kristina!
