This is an unfortunate and over-used tactic - and a quick way to make him wonder if you even like him at all and maybe he should leave and good luck getting him to suddenly be interested when you decide you need some physical attention. Good to call this tactic out (and yes, guys do shitty attention-getting things, too) - be clear, be direct, and just fucking ask!
