This is a great lesson - I love Medium b/c it gets my stories in front of a clear audience, but I also enjoy writing for magazines. I've found that I've gotten some good connections with traditional pubs by way of my Medium work, so that's a good benefit. But, you're right, if you can earn more elsewhere, by all means, do it!
