Thanks for this, Yana. My experience has been marketing/promotion does matter - and it is KEY to know your audience. NewsBreak wants different/specific types of content - I write that there, and I've had success. Medium is a place I can experiment some, but also know that I'm building an audience - which means building some expectations around both content and quality. Finally, being in it for the long haul. I've read that "Tim" took 7 years to build his massive following and before that, was big on Quora. True success takes time and effort.
