Thanks, AJ - apparently, things like that were fairly common - and my mom was definitely disputing the IRS debt in the divorce - I think since the money was part of a divorce and with assurance that someone (or both parties) would be assigned a portion, the IRS restored the money - I'm very glad it worked out that way.
