I’ve been writing newsletters at Substack for nearly two years now. I write one on education policy and another on consumer finance issues.

Both have grown over time and both have paid subscribers.

Last month, I wrote an update on the progress on the education newsletter.

Here’s an update on January’s numbers:

I added 36 free subscribers and 5 paid subscribers last month.

That’s pretty great.

Each paid subscriber either pays $5 a month or $50 a year.

Sure, another $250 to the pot isn’t earth shattering. But, it is money.

It’s also encouraging to me that I keep adding subscribers at a steady rate.

Last month, I added just over 30 subscribers.

I’m basically running at adding 1 subscriber a day. Plus, at the current rate, just over 10% of those become paying subscribers.
