I’ve been chronicling my journey on Simily since January. It’s a writing platform like Medium or Vocal that focuses on fiction/creative writing. Sure, they now publish other genres of writing, but a primary emphasis of Simily seems to be to become a “Medium” of fiction/creative writing.

To emphasize their focus, the platform has been awarding a “Story of the Month” and giving that story a little extra push. Now, they’ve taken nominations for a “Poem of the Month” and the nominated poems are up for a vote.

I’m going to put it this way: Simily is trying. They are making an effort. The platform is nearing 4000 members and there seems to be a growing emphasis on sharing out content. That’s good news for writers.

I remain curious about the evolution of Simily, but I find these small pushes as pieces of encouragement.

Heck, Vocal’s been around for a bit and just now added comments. At least Simily is soliciting feedback and making an effort to celebrate and promote creative writing.

What are your thoughts? Do you publish on Simily? What are other platforms for creative writing?
