On the Sad State of Simily

The once promising platform is a mess

Yes, I’ve published fiction on Simily.

For a fair amount of time, I wrote weekly updates on my journey on the creative writing site.

I’m not even linking to Simily now because the site is so sad.

I read a story from Glenn Stok explaining why he doesn’t put his best work there.

It prompted me to check it out — again.

That is, I have not only stopped publishing on Simily, I also haven’t visited in a couple months.

I went back and found, well, nothing.

The Story of the Month features a Holiday piece that’s now quite outdated.

The content available includes stories about how to solve “puzzles” on video games.

The “romance” section is just really, really bad porn writing. No, not erotica — just, well, bad writing about bad sex.
