OMG - yes - there is no "sorry" for that - and the cycle it creates is on that is tough to break. When I became a dad, I finally realized how crazy this was - and also know my own child wants me to be there, be present - and to manage my shit from the past so I can show up for her. Sure, my mom apologized (not so much my dad) - but, that doesn't take away the scars.
