My Substack is Attracting Hordes of Half People

Begging the question: Which half wants my writing?

May was the (insert large-sounding number)th consecutive month during which my Substack on education policy has attracted one and a half new subscribers each day.

Admittedly, I’m pretty happy with slow and steady growth. Roughly 10% of all new subscribers become paying members. If this continues, I’ll eventually earn a pretty nice side income from my Substack.

Plus, eventually (I like that word), a critical mass of subscribers should lead to a broader network — more growth — more paying members.

Blah blah blah.

My question:

Who are all these HALF people?

If I’m getting 1.5 subscribers per day, which half of one person am I getting?

Are these (half) people divided top and bottom? Or by right or left side? Or is it some combination of both.

What if instead of 1 whole person and one half of a person, three half people…
