My NewsBreak Earnings Were 20x My Medium Earnings . . . Again
Will this change with the new Medium payment model?
I’ve been writing seriously here on Medium since 2021.
Since then, I’ve also added writing on Substack and NewsBreak to my portfolio.
I love the community of Medium and the chance to connect with other writers.
While NewsBreak lacks that sense of community, it has proven to be a much more reliable source of writing income.
While July was a decent month for me in terms of Medium earnings, NewsBreak far outpaced those numbers. For the second straight month, I earned 20x on NB what I earned here on Medium.
Of course, I like both platforms and plan to keep writing on both of them.
I’m also curious about how recent changes (taking effect this month) on Medium will impact these numbers. Will there be more Medium money for people who write about dragons and brownies instead of about meta-issues like comparing platform earnings?
