My NewsBreak and Medium Earnings Were the Same in September
Good news, bad news
Writing is what I do.
It’s what I do in my “day” job for clients who need content — for blogs, media pieces, reports, etc.
It’s what I do in the classes I teach — I write prompts and assignments and critiques and feedback.
And it is what I do here on Medium and elsewhere.
It can be great therapy. It can help supplement my income.
I write a lot here at Medium on a range of topics. I also write at Substack on education policy and consumer finance.
And I write at NewsBreak.
Typically, my earnings at NewsBreak eclipse all my other earnings.
Not last month, though.
Instead, September saw my Medium earnings match my NewsBreak earnings.
This happened for two reasons:
- My NewsBreak earnings went down a bit
- My Medium earnings continue to go up
I’m actually heartened by the Medium numbers. Here, I get to share some personal experiences and now (finally) can earn some writing income from it.
On NewsBreak, it is just news.
