My Highest-Earning NewsBreak Story in July was About a Rent-to-Own Scam

200% markups and contracts you can’t cancel

I like to write stories about consumers getting screwed.

Not because I like to see bad things happen to unwitting shoppers.

But because I want to shine a light and warn people that in the financial marketplace, you should always have your guard up.

The predators in suits and ties can inflict more pain than a pack of wolves. Recovering from these financial nightmares can also take a very, very long time.

And it’s not like life stops while you get your shit in order after losing your shirt in some scam.

I write a lot about consumer issues over at NewsBreak — straight news, just the facts.

The fact is, Rent-A-Center is an entire scam.

And a Rent-A-Center affiliate is now being sued for marking up products by 200% and creating contracts that customers can’t cancel.

The story I wrote about it was my highest-earning piece over at NewsBreak in July.
