Money matters.

Whether it is a job or the cost of something you want or the ability to buy what you need.

Money matters for schools.

It matters for the teachers in those schools. You know, the frontline employees doing the very personal work of connecting with kids.

So, it’s encouraging when school systems take strong steps toward investing in their people.

By the same token, starving school systems of money means less investment in kids.

That’s the problem posed by a voucher scheme that has long been the dream of Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee.
