Is Simily Slowing Down?
Six weeks in to writing fiction on Simily
I’ve been chronicling my experience writing fiction at Simily for the past six weeks now.
Five Weeks on Simily. What it’s like to be on a new… | by Andy Spears | Feb, 2022 | Medium
I was initially attracted to the platform because it was started with a focus on fiction. Now, of course, you can publish anything you want. But the categories encourage publishing prose and poetry. While I enjoy writing on Medium, I have found it somewhat difficult to gain traction with fiction here.
How’s it going?
Slow and Steady and Slow?
Initially, there was some pretty steady growth on the platform. Simily went from 1000 to 2000 members pretty fast. Now, however, Simily seems to be hovering at just under 3000 members. It’s not adding members very quickly. That may be because the site loads slowly at times. Or because of technical glitches that have the site down.
For me, I’ve grown to 81 followers. I try to be intentional about engaging on Simily daily, so I’d say that’s relatively slow growth. But with less than 3000 members, I don’t expect rapid follower growth.
