Is Simily a Money-Making Machine?

I’ve been writing on Simily for some time now and also chronicling my journey there.
While the site is growing, growth is slow and so are earnings.
That’s why I was surprised to read a story claiming Simily can make you a lot of money.

The writer then demonstrates this with a showing of 16 cents in earnings for 2 stories he reposted.
I think it’s possible to make a few dollars a month there — even recoup the membership fee — but, with just over 4000 members, it seems unlikely you’d make “a lot” of money there.
I’ve read the work of other established Medium writers, and while some are making a bit of cash on Simily, I don’t believe anyone is striking it rich.
The site has potential, to be sure, but I don’t believe it is (yet) a money-making machine.
