Is a Long-Awaited Medium Feature Arriving Soon?
And will it mean more money for Medium writers?
I’ve been writing seriously on Medium for what will be two years come early 2023.
The entire time I’ve been here, I’ve read article after article practically begging for Medium to increase the payouts to writers.
One oft-repeated refrain is that Medium should pay for external views.
Most suggest that the way to facilitate this is for Medium to show ads to non-Medium members. That way, Medium makes money from external views and also shares that revenue with writers.
However, I keep reading that Medium does NOT want to do this.
But, Medium IS experimenting with some method of pay for external views.
The theory being that writers who bring external views to Medium also bring potential paying members.
