I Told You Dave Wasn’t Very Nice

If you’ve been following my writing on consumer finance, you know I’m no fan of the cash advance app Dave.

The fintech lender with a cartoon bear as its mascot says it aims to help customers gain easy access to credit. Dave also claims it does so with no interest or fees.

Except, well, analysis of Dave’s actual practices consistently reveals effective interest rates (APR) in the triple digits.

And customers report not being able to access all the “easy credit” Dave lures them in with in the ads.

While I’m not excited to report that Dave is in trouble, I am glad the payday predators are finally being held accountable.
