I think FoM is benefitting writers - since FoM, I've noticed a slight uptick in earnings - and the range of pay per read has definitely changed (I'd say generally 5-10 cents for non-FoM readers, 15-30 for FoM) - though there are those sparse readers for whom you earn a good bit since they only read a few pieces each month.
