I agree — I think there was a lot of “follow-for-follow” happening — and not a lot of following to read. Plus, I’ve read that about 1% of your followers actually see/are shown your posts.

I think the good news is that with the incentive to follow gone, your followers are much more likely to be people who are into/interested in your content. This should help build community.
