…t to pick up my medications from the pharmacy. When he returned, he only handed me two medications. He said that the pharmacy did not have my painkillers and that if I needed them, he could call later to see if they were ready. I repeated that I did not want them anyway.

Hmm... the ready excuse. Sounds vaguely implausible, but he did have the other drugs, and he'd offered to help, so ... very easy to believe. He's a smooth one, this guy.
