Financial Services Agreements You Can’t Cancel

Read the fine print . . . or just walk away

When it comes to the financial marketplace, there are a lot of potential traps.

Sure, some businesses deal fairly — but there’s a tremendous opportunity to take advantage of the unsuspecting consumer.

I write about consumer finance issues over at Substack — and sometimes, here at Medium.

One problem I notice popping up frequently is contracts that are easy to agree to and difficult to escape.

You realize a financial product isn’t working for you or is costing more than you’d like, but the process for canceling is confusing or seemingly impossible.

That was the case with Chime — a popular earned wage access provider.

When customers wanted to leave, it took some as long as three months to get their own money back.

Perhaps more insidious are the payday predators over at Horizon Card Services.
