I love Halloween.

Dark. Creepy. Candles.

Yes, I even work with candles burning during this spooky season!

So, I thought I’d share a pair of disturbing stories about birds.

The first concerns a secret — one I wish I hadn’t learned, but one which would explain a lot about events that happened years later.

It’s a seemingly sweet childhood memory — a visit to a church, some singing, a delicious meal, and some pre-event candy.

And, the candy is where the problem happens — the candy and then what it revealed.

The second story also involves secrets.

Secret drinking.

A secret hobby.

Some maniacal activity involving birds.

A bit about our main character, Wanda:

She found the miniature syringe and the medicine. The concoction would both nourish the bird and ultimately, help preserve it.
