Compelling - reminds me of teaching a class in a women's prison. I only knew what the women did to be ordered to prison if they told me, and several did.

I also admired that these particular women had enrolled in college classes and taken advantage of other opportunities to change their lives. Some still faced many years before being allowed to leave and return to society.

I wonder about what awaits these women who earn degrees and work jobs - will the system assist them in finding work? Will they be simply let go with their degrees and years of time?

No matter what the future holds, these prisoners are people - teaching that class was and remains one of the most rewarding experiences.
