Based on social media, I'd suspect the current dating people is completely full of narcissists who relentlessly gaslight. And that's basically it. Of course, that's not the case. Thanks for calling out the overuse of this term - true gaslighting is bad and can be devastating. But a simple disagreement about "what happened" is often NOT gaslighting.
