I’ve been writing seriously on Medium since December of 2021. I write mostly stories about consumer protection issues, some education policy, and occasionally, some fiction.

Specifically, I’ve taken to writing a few short stories. Most of the time, these are “one-off” pieces — short fiction not connected to other stories or characters.

Then, there is Macon County Supper Club. So far, I’ve written four stories in the series. Each of those stories introduces a character who makes up the Supper Club.

There are (at least) two more characters. It is possible these six (or seven) characters will form the basis of a novel.

Here are the four stories so far:

Billy is the likeable guy everyone knows and loves at church. Sure, he likes just a little bit of bourbon, but it’s not a problem. He sees things as they are and he’s genuinely happy.

Wanda is a bit of a busy body. She also drinks. A lot. And has a very special, very curious relationship with birds.

Ronald is a bit of a success story as far as his church is concerned. He got way off track, then “found his way,” and is now quite acceptable in the eyes of the church — and especially the Supper Club.
