Each month, I like to look back at my stories and see which ones got a lot of reads, which ones earned well. I write what I like to write, but it is interesting to see the stories that generate views, reads, and dollars.

In October, a story I wrote more than a year before was among the top earners.

Here’s the breakdown of the top five, in reverse order.

Number five is about a secret — about trying to “not disturb” anyone. About how what we keep inside can create a mess — one that not only keeps us up at night, but also can wreak havoc on those closest to us:
