Why this story? Why now?

I share on ManyStories to gain just a bit more exposure for my writing.

I like the positive feedback of seeing the potential reach of my shared content and the weekly Top 10 list of writers on the platform.

And I like that sometimes, they “feature” one of your stories — sharing it with a broader audience.

It’s nice to see a piece gain some traction by way of distribution.

It’s not clear, though, how ManyStories chooses its featured stories.

This particular story was written on my education policy blog back in March.

Tennessee’s legislative session (which the story was about) is over.

An expansion of school vouchers (which the story warned about) did not pass.
