Burk — who writes a lot about writing — has a post about some alternatives to Medium. His post suggests that for those who are interested in fiction, Simily might be a worthy alternative.

5 Medium Alternatives For 2022. Spoiler Alert: None is better than… | by Burk | Writers’ Blokke | Dec, 2021 | Medium

Here’s what he has to say about the fiction (and now non-fiction) writing platform called Simily:

This one, you might not have heard of just yet. It’s a fairly new platform and, on paper, it sounds fantastic. It is the closest thing to a Medium competitor I’ve come across so far. BUT, and this is important, I haven’t really tried it long enough to give a full review.

Simily used to be only open to fiction writers though. Recently, they changed this to fiction and nonfiction creative writing as they say on their website.

As someone who writes a lot of newsy content, Medium and NewsBreak appeal to me. But, I’m also interested in both reading and writing fiction. So, I plan to check out Simily in 2022 and see how it goes.
